Boro Appoint Head of Academy Operations

Scarborough Athletic FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Vic Florey to the position of Head of Academy Operations at Scarborough Athletic FC.

Vic will be overseeing the Academy and looks forward to improving the offering by working closely with the current group of coaches and young players.

As with all coaches at Scarborough Athletic FC, Vic is fully qualified, holding a UEFA B License, working around the world in countries such as Zimbabwe, Australia, Germany and also at Leeds United as Head of Education and Welfare.

Vic was responsible for developing the young players at Leeds United including Jonathan Woodgate and others until financial difficulties put a strain on the club, prompting a move to Australia.

Vic has more recently spent seven years coaching, managing and running academies in Germany. Returning from Germany in December last year, Vic volunteered his services at Scarborough Athletic Football Club.

Vic said "After forty four years teaching and coaching young players, I am confident that, given the right encouragement, respect and opportunity and set the highest standards possible, our young players can enjoy their football, have a great experience and set an example to all young footballers in our district".

"I look forward to working with all the great people who volunteer their time and expertise at Scarborough Athletic F.C".

We look forward to taking in Vic's experience and ideas into developing the Academy. Vic will be supporting Football Development Director, Paul Exley and the Youth Action Group Committee.
