Boro Partner up with The Energy Check

Scarborough Athletic FC are delighted to announce a new long-term partnership with independent energy consultancy, The Energy Check.

As sponsors and official energy partner to the club, The Energy Check have already procured energy for the Filey Community Sports Club site, home of the Scarborough Athletic FC Academy, as part of their role. It is estimated that the new energy contracts will save Scarborough Athletic FC in excess of £4,500 over the next five years in energy savings alone. It is also expected that further savings and energy efficiencies can be made with guidance from the energy saving experts at The Energy Check to help reduce costs and lower emissions over the coming years.

The new partnership also includes sponsorship towards Scarborough Athletic FC with Business & Partnership Director, Del Gunton adding, "The exciting new partnership with The Energy Check is one that will help to save our club a significant amount of money and time over the next few years."

"The partnership and the longevity of the agreement is reliant upon our supporters and sponsors. Through the partnership we are able to offer supporters and local businesses to access the expertise of The Energy Check, helping them save money on energy procurement and avoiding the hassle of searching and dealing with providers. As an added benefit, this referral partnership helps to benefit the club. For every switch referred, the club receives £10. With energy rates at the lowest in a long time, now is a perfect time to reassess your energy provider."

Fellow supporters' owned club, FC United of Manchester have helped their supporters and sponsors save over £13,000 through this type of partnership with The Energy Check, whilst also increasing their club's sponsorship income through the purchase of advertising space down the side of Broadhurst Park.

Football Development Director, Paul Exley said, "We explored a number of partners that could provide the best rate for Filey Community Sports Club. Having had issues with our previous provider, Jon Lamberton from The Energy Check had liaised with our previous supplier to solve the issues, whilst also providing the best rate for Filey Community Sports Club. In addition to this, we have also received some sponsorship, which will be reviewed next year. We hope all of our supporters and sponsors are able to consider reviewing their rates for the mutual benefit of everyone".

Jon Lamberton, Corporate Partnership Manager said, "We are excited to be working with Scarborough Athletic FC over the coming seasons, the Club has a fantastic fanbase and is building some solid foundations for the future. We have had great success in recent years with supporter owned clubs keen to build innovative and mutually beneficial partnerships. Already we have identified significant savings for the club - savings that can help free up money for investment elsewhere in the club. While cheaper energy is a key consideration for any business, we can also help Scarborough Athletic FC, it’s supporters, and indeed any organisation, to identify energy saving opportunities that help to reduce overheads and lower emissions.”
