Jimmy Beadle's favourite Boro matches
We asked Boro’s player-coach Jimmy Beadle to pick out two of his favourite games from his lengthy spell at Scarborough Athletic and Scarborough FC.
After much deliberation, Beadle, who recently rejoined the club to help out boss Darren Kelly, selected his two highlights.
Brighouse 0-2 Scarborough Athletic - April 13th 2013.
Beadle said: “The game at Brighouse when we were promoted was just unbelievable.
“I think we took about 1,000 fans to their place, the atmosphere made by our supporters was unbelievable, especially when the final whistle went.
“Blotty (Ryan Blott) scored the first and then Bryan Hughes set me up for the second.
“I always loved scoring a goal, but when the fans started singing my name it made it more special.
“I didn’t feel that nervous going into that game because I don’t think we every felt like we were going to lose a game at that point.
“We just felt that good as a team.”
“The changing room after the game was unreal, it was just a really special day.”
Scarborough Athletic 2 Ossett Albion 0 - April 28th 2018.
Beadle said: “I scored again in this game, which always helps.
“We had achieved promotion a few days earlier at Colne, so this was more of a celebration.
“The trophy was there, it was the players’ night out after the game and we had the chance to celebrate at home with all of our supporters.
“I had a lot of enjoyable games with club this club and the old club, but these two stood out for me.
“The game at Brid when I scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against league leaders Spennymoor was memorable, but there was never anything better than playing in front of our own fans at the new stadium.”
