The Scarborough Athletic FC Society

The Scarborough Athletic FC Society is the formal term for the entity which began and runs Scarborough Athletic FC.

The Society is a not-for-profit organisation, registered with the Financial Services Authority as an Industrial and Provident Society.

The Society began life as the Seadog Trust back in November 2006 when supporters formed the group to try and gain fan representation on the board of Scarborough Athletic FC. A steering committee was formed and in April 2007 the Seadog Trust’s first board was elected.

Upon the liquidation of Scarborough FC, Seadog Trust formed Scarborough Athletic FC, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Society membership quickly rose to over 500 and has stayed around that figure for two years, although since formation closer to 750 individuals have been members.

Memberships to the Society can be taken out on five levels - Bronze (£12 per year), Silver (£12 per month) and Gold (£25 per month), as well as family membership and corporate business memberships.

The Society which runs the club operates on a democratic basis, with annual board members elections each each. Amy paid up Society member can stand for election, and a third of the club’s board will stand down to allow fresh faces to push their claim to help the club progress further.
