Away to Eccleshill FC on Saturday 14th July, 3pm kick off.

Notts County FC at Home on Saturday 28th July, 3pm Kick off, Queensgate Stadium.

Away to Eastwood Town FC, now to be played on Thursday 26th July, 7.30pm kick off.

Boro u16s 3 FC Seamer u16s 1 - S038D FA Senior Minor Cup Final

Boro under-16s defeated FC Seamer 3-1 at Thornton Dale to secure the Scarborough & District FA Senior Minor Cup on Monday evening.

A first half free-kick by skipper Tommy Wilson, and two second half goals from winger Harry Pollard brought Boro's second trophy of the season, with a third still to play for.

Credit must go to the FC Seamer players for getting back into the game directly from kick-off in the second half to draw level, and for a spirited display.

The Boro lads now prepare to face Hall Road Rangers in the Hull Boys Sunday League Knock-out Cup final at Queensgate on Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off is 2pm, and all Scarborough Athletic fans are encouraged to come along and support the team in the club's final game of the season.

Boro Draw Winners

Saturday evening saw the Club run its fourth Boro Monthly Draw which proved to be another great success. There were 88 people entered into the draw, which took place during the Clubs presentation night, and the winning numbers were:

1st Prize of £100 - won by number 26, Tony Brown

2nd Prize of £50 - won by number 66, Paul Fletcher

3rd Prize of £25 - won by number 47, Jack Fewster

Many thanks to all those who entered, a great amount of funds were raised for the club.

SAFC award winners 2011-12

Scarborough Athletic's annual presentation night took place on Saturday May 5th, in the Ocean Room at Scarborough Spa.

With over 170 fans, players, sponsors, officials and parents in attendance the evening was a fantastic celebration of the club's season, which has brought plenty of success on and off the field.

The main section of the night was the awards ceremony for each of the club's five teams - under-12s, under-16s, under-19s, Reserves and First Team. Awards were handed out with a backdrop of action photos from the season. A full list of award winners are below.

Also awarded on the night were two special awards for the first time. The Richard Adamson Trophy was awarded to the junior player of the season, and is named in memory of former club chairman Richard Adamson, who commissioned the award and trophy prior to his passing last year.

And posters on the unoffcial Boro forum The Surfing Seadog also helped fund a trophy for the Junior Clubman of the Year. As well as the award, the forum posters donated additional cash to go towards the junior set-ups, of which there will be three more sides next season.

Special presentations were also made to striker Ryan Blott, in recognition of scoring his 150th goal for the club just three days earlier at Staveley, and also a 'Supporter of the Year' award was added last minute, and Geoff Smith, better known as cameraman 'Old Git', was given this award.

Thanks go out to everyone for their help in making the night possible, from the officials involved in the organisation of the night, to those who attended the event.

New date for Under-16s league cup final

Boro under-16s final game this season has been re-arranged.

The Hull Boys Sunday League Knock-Out Cup Final against Hall Road Rangers, postponed due to the weather on May 3rd, will now be played on Sunday May 20th, with kick-off at 2pm.

The under-16s play their first final of the season in the Scarborough & District FA Senior Minor Cup on Monday May 14th, kicking off at 6.30pm at Thornton Dale against FC Seamer.

Junior sides8217 league campaigns end

Boro's junior teams ended their successful first league campaigns yesterday in the Hull Boys Sunday League.

The under-16s, having already secured the title two weeks ago, solidified their dominance in the division with a 4-0 home win at Filey against Howden - the only team to beat them this season back on the opening day.

Jordan Shaw opened the scoring with a beautiful volley in the first half, with two goals from Connor Campbell and a Tommy Wilson penalty securing the points.

Boro finished 12 points clear of second placed DCSI Rhinos, having won 14 games from 18, scoring 55 goals and conceeding just 19.

The under-16s round off the season with two cup finals soon - the first of which is at Thornton Dale on Monday May 14th against Seamer in the Scarborough & District Senior Cup, and then the HBSL Knock-out Cup final against first division champs Hall Road Rangers (Date TBC).

The under-12s finished up their season away at league champions North Ferriby United, losing 5-0.

The lads scored a massive 73 goals in their 20 league matches, winning 10 of their games and finishing fourth in the table.

Well done to every junior league team player this season, and thank you to all managers, coaches and parents for their hard work and dedication.

Staveley Miners Welfare 0 Boro 3

THREE was the magic number for Scarborough Athletic last night, as they signed off the season in style at Staveley Miners Welfare.

With third place in the table the prize for three points, Boro hit three goals without reply to secure a finish behind Retford and Bridlington Town.

Ryan Blott had three in mind as well - three goals would have given him the outright top-scorer award for the division. He managed two in the victory to draw level with Bridlington’s former Boro player Craig Hogg on 34 league goals.

Boro boss Rudy Funk brought back skipper Tony Hackworth after his three game ban at Staveley, and he slotted into midfield in place of Chris Hewitt.

The first effort of the game came from the home side - a free-kick from James Walker swinging just wide. But from then on it was all Boro.

On eight minutes Blott struck his first of the game, out-muscling a defender to strike across the keeper and into the net.

A superb finish worthy of the striker’s 150th goal for the club.

His strike partner Curtis Bernard came close to a spectacular second when his over-head kick from Paddy Miller’s nod down was tipped over.

Boro continued to storm forward, and Bill Law headed wide before Blott beat the keeper to the ball but ran out of pitch and so couldn’t finish.

Staveley were finding Boro’s back-line difficult to break through, although Joe Thornton did force Kevin Martin to do some work after 25 minutes, the keeper equal to his shot.

Hackworth sliced a shot wide after a terrible bobble, but Boro hit a second in their next attack.

All credit goes to Bernard for chasing down a back pass, blocking keeper Martin Dewberry’s clearance and then rounding the keeper as he recovered. But he showed an unselfish side to his game by passing for Blott to notch his and Boro’s second.

At half-time Staveley made a change with Danny Claridge replacing Walker on the left.
But Denny Ingram had him in his pocket for 45 minutes, as Boro’s defence continued to hold firm.

Coming forward Boro looked to add to their tally - with Blott in particular looking to notch his 35th league goal of the season.

Bill Law should have made it three soon after the half started, but blazed wide after a ricochet fell into his path.

On the hour the home keeper spilled a Jimmy Ghaichem cross, and when Matt Draper couldn’t reach the ball Law got in a shot which was blocked.

More substitutions gave the game a stop and go feel, but Boro continued to control the match.

And the finishing blow came through Hackworth, who timed his run perfectly to latch onto Ghaichem’s throughball and side-foot past Dewberry to put the result beyond doubt.

A succession of long-throws and corners kept the ball in the Staveley half as Boro looked to see out a long arduous season on top.

It would have been the icing on the cake had Blott’s 90th minute 25-yard strike dipped in, but the keeper handled well.

A positive end to the season for Funk’s men, and with a three month break to reflect and regroup, who’s to say they can’t go a couple of places better off next season?

Presentation Night this Saturday

Don't forget that this years presentation evening will be held at The Spa in Scarborough this coming Saturday, 5th May.

The event will kick off at 7.30pm where there will be presentations and trophies presented by each of our squads, starting with the Under 12's and finishing with the first team.

Entry for the night will cost just £5, adult or child, though under 5's will go free.

If you are attending in a group, or simply would like to help with some funding, you may wish to sponsor a table for the night for just £20. Your name/company name will appear on the table in recognition of your support. All monies raised through this will be given to our youth teams.

Dress code for the night will be smart/casual.

No physical tickets will be issued, the Club are running a guest list system for the event which will be held on the door, when you express your interest you will be included on the guest list. Once payment has been received your name will be ticked off on the sheet.

You will be able to pay at the door on the night, however, to reduce the risk to the Club we are trying to receive as much ticket money prior to the event as possible. Therefore if you are interested in attending please register your payments as soon as possible.
