Boro back in training?

Boro tonight stepped back into the swing of things with their first training session of the new season, at Bishop Burton College near Beverley.

Over 30 players attended, with those from last season being joined by new recruits hopeful of earning a place with either the first team or reserves.

Amongst the returnees from last season were Mark Griffin, Craig Hogg, Carl Wood, Ryan Morton, Joe Lightowler, Richard Medcalf, Ryan Davies, Jamie Waltham, Jon Hyde, Dave Kemp, Craig Evans, Scott Phillips, Gary Hepples and Dave Thompson.

Other 2007-08 regulars, including Liam Widdowson and goalkeeper Dave Bramley were on holiday and will be returning to training soon, along with Ryan Blott and Joel Hartley, who were unavailable this evening.

New players looking to impress included Tadcaster pair of Rob Ellis and Phil Smith, who played against Boro last season and Cameron Dobson, formerly of Bridlington Town, amongst many others.

Brian France, Darren France, Derek Exley and new reserves team manager Jimmy Reid overlooked the training, which France described as 'a great start to pre-season with a fit, sharp and positive bunch of lads.'
