Supporters Game Update?
The Boro Supporters' Game is drawing nearer, and as Boro attempt to gain promotion on the pitch, the anticipation of over 30 Seadogs hitting the Queensgate pitch is just as high.
Over the past few days certain things have been finalised.
The teams are now almost full. There are presently just 4 spaces left for players. These must be filled and paid up by Sunday 30th March at 6pm.
The sponsorship of the kits for the match is finalised. Scarborough Athletic FC Supporters Club has kindly sponsored the production of both strips, and will feature on the shoulders of the kits. Sports Credos, who are arranging all the production, and Boudoir Lounge Bar (whose owner and former SFC player Steve French is playing in the match) appear on the front of the kits. The two kits are in the Boro colours of red and blue.
The ringers are confirmed, with Darren France, Derek Exley, Steve French and Boro's third choice keeper Jon Hyde taking to the turf. And the game is being fully affiliated with the North Riding FA. Confirmation of the referee for the match will occur soon, with Unibond level referee Steve Rowntree hopefully able to officate. The Bernard Newby memorial shield has also been ordered, and members of Bernard's family will be attending the game and choosing the Man of the Match.
The draw for the two teams will be made, in full Champions League style, after the Boro vs Dinnington game on Sunday 6th April in the social club at Queensgate. Players will be drawn at random alternately to ensure no cheating occurs!
The kick-off for the game has been put back to 6.30pm to avoid a rush in getting ready and warmed up after Boro's game with Staveley.
The deadline for player registrations has been set as Sunday 30th March at 6pm. Those wishing to play who are yet to hand in forms or pay their registration fee, must do so by this date.
Can all players be aware that if on the day of the game they have found to have been drinking excessively before the match, they will not be allowed to play.
