South Shields Preview

Boro head North to South Shields on New Year's Day, looking to start 2020 just as we ended 2019.
The highly anticipated fixture between two of the better supported sides in the division is expected to draw a large crowd, with Boro taking two supporters coaches to the game. Both coaches are departing at 10.30am from Scarborough, organised by the Valley Bar Travel Club. Kick off is 3pm at Mariners Park.
South Shields currently sit top of the league, however lost to rivals Whitby Town on Boxing Day at the Turnbull and with Lancaster on their heels, the title favourites have started to dither. Boro drew with the Mariners on August Bank Holiday Monday at the Flamingo Land Stadium, fielding a 
Boro will be expected to now be at full strength, with Chris Dawson expected to return the fold after a couple of week's rest. Kian Spence is the only doubt for the game currently. Dave Merris and Steve Roberts will be taking the team on New Year's Day, with Darren Kelly away for a couple of weeks on a pre-planned vacation. Merris will be looking to maintain his 100% record in charge of the seadogs.

Public transport is expected to be limited for the New Year's Day fixture.
