Seven Depart Boro

First team manager, John Deacey has spoken to a number of the squad from 2018/19 and has decided to allow several players to seek football elsewhere.

Ross Killock, James Willliamson, Matty Dixon, Jamie Forrester, James Cadman, Luke Dean and Nathan Valentine have been allowed to move on from the seadogs as John Deacey shapes his squad for 2019/20.

Midfielders, Luke Dean , Nathan Valentine and James Cadman end their association with the club as promotion winners during the club’s homecoming season, including an FA Cup run in 2017/18. Nathan Valentine scoring the only goal in the 1-0 victory against higher league opposition at the time, Workington AFC in the First Qualifying Round before beating Sunderland RCA at the Flamingo Land Stadium, securing a replay at Stratford in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. Departing James Cadman changed the game during the replay at Stratford, scoring two and assisting one within half an hour from the bench, setting Boro up for a FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round home fixture. Cadman is also one of few of the current members of the squad to have played for Boro at Queensgate. You can watch the highlights from the Stratford replay here:

Fellow midfielder Luke Dean departs after two seasons in the seadog midfield along Nathan Valentine. Both of whom will be fondly remembered as part of the homecoming and promotion winning season of 2017/18.

Meanwhile, Ross Killock, James Williamson, Matty Dixon and Jamie Forrester have been told they are not part of John Deacey’s immediate plans and wish them all well for the future.

All players have left on good terms and we thank them all for their contributions to the cause and the memories created whilst wearing the Boro shirt.
