Match Preview - Stafford Rangers v Scarborough Athletic
BY Joe Usher
Scarborough Athletic face a long trip to Staffordshire as they take on Stafford Rangers this Saturday.
Boro travel to Stafford off the back of a 2-0 win over Witton Albion on Tuesday night, in what Steve Kittrick described as “The best way to bounce back after a disappointing display last Saturday” (3-2 home defeat to Nantwich).
Tuesday’s win kept Boro in 3rd position in the table, level on points with the team in second, Basford United, and two points behind Warrington who have played a game less than the Seadogs. A win on Saturday could see Boro move to the top of the pile with Warrington not in league action.
Stafford will pose a tough test for Boro, as they are unbeaten so far at Marston Road this term, winning 3 of their 5 games at home in the Northern Premier League.
They have however lost their last two, including a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Bamber Bridge. They currently sit 12th, but could jump as high as 8th with a win.
Boro will be hopeful Matty Dixon can play a part on Saturday, meaning that only Will Annan would be unavailable.« Back to news
