Scarborough Athletic and Hyde United cancelled each other out in a tight opening day encounter, as it finished 0-0 at the Flamingo Land Stadium.
Midfielder Jimmy Beadle had the first opportunity with a deflected effort tipped round the post by Peter Crook.
Home skipper Dave Merris then charged in from the left to fire in a drive from a narrow angle that was turned behind.
At the other end Hyde striker Tom Pratt planted a header over the bar when well placed.
A Luke Porritt snap shot was superbly tipped away by Boro keeper Taylor, before a penalty shout for the visitors was turned away as Boyle went over in the box.
In the final stages the hosts pressed for a winner, with another shout for a spot-kick as sub Lewis Clarkson went down on the edge of the area, but again nothing was given as the two sides could not be separated as Boro sit 12th in the league after the opening round of games.
