SAFC TV teams up with Mainline Menswear for new season!

Scarborough-based Mainline Menswear has teamed up with Scarborough Athletic's YouTube video channel SAFC TV for the 2017/18 season.

Mainline Menswear is a local based company with a huge online presence, with the company set to open a newly refurbished flagship store later this month on Huntriss Row in Scarborough. The leading retailers, specialising in men's designer clothing, will support the club's video channel throughout the upcoming campaign.

Managing Director of Mainline Menswear is former Scarborough FC defender Stuart Hicks. Stuart said: "Supporting local sporting projects like this is something very new to us, we hope giving SAFC TV the opportunity to develop their YouTube channel will help spread the word of what we have on our doorstep, and inspire the next generation of local footballers."

SAFC TV was set up in February this year, with the first video being an update on progress of the build of the new ground. Seven games over the last two months of the season were then covered, capturing the excellent unbeaten run that saw Boro go on to reach the end of season play-offs. The channel now has 24 videos with well over 30,000 views and 200 subscribers.

"I'm delighted and very grateful for the support we will have from the team at Mainline Menswear going forward," said Head of SAFC TV, Andrew Davies. "Stuart obviously has a huge link with the old club and it's brilliant that he's now getting involved with what we're doing.

"I was pleased with what we managed to do towards the end of last season and this partnership will allow us to build on that and make it sustainable in the longer term. Online channels are very much part of football clubs these days and there are very few, if any, professional clubs without one. It's all for the fans of the club and offers a fantastic way to engage with them, which we'll be aiming to do as the season progresses.

"It's also a great way for fans to be able to follow the club who are unable to attend games regularly, particularly those living elsewhere. We know of regular viewers of SAFC TV in America, Africa and several countries around Europe. We're hoping to produce a few features throughout the season, in addition to the usual match coverage. However, the games will always be our priority and I'll aim to cover as many as possible in what should be a really exciting season for the club."

Scarborough Athletic kick-off the new campaign at the Flamingo Land Stadium on Saturday 12th August against Manchester outfit, Hyde United. This is an all-ticket game with tickets still available to purchase online here.
