Midfield trio strengthen Boro

Scarborough Athletic manager Steve Kittrick has further strengthened his squad ahead of the forthcoming season with the addition of midfield trio Dan Thirkell, Rob Youhill and Nathan Valentine.

Frickley holding midfielder Valentine made 46 appearances last season for the Blues in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, having previously enjoyed a spell at Radcliffe Borough. He was also appointed the Frickley vice captain as they made the Sheffield Senior Cup Final at Bramall Lane in April 2017.

Rob Youhill joins from Tadcaster Albion after spending a year at the Brewers, making 46 appearances and scoring against Boro in the FA Cup in August, whilst chipping in with 11 assists. Previously he spent a short time at Darlington prior to Harrogate Railway. The tricky winger is known for his direct style of play, taking on and beating players before sending dangerous crosses into the box.

Central midfielder Dan Thirkell will also be playing at the new Scarborough Sports Village next season after spending last season with Tadcaster Albion. Dan linked up at Taddy with his former Harrogate Railway boss Billy Miller after spending 11 years at Station View.

With the start of pre-season training now under 3 weeks away, the Boro squad is taking shape with more signings expected from the Boro management team before then.

We welcome all three new signings to the club!
