Come along and visit an exhibition being held at Falsgrave Community Resource Centre this Friday and Saturday.
Have a look at the plans for the Weaponness Sports Village and the enabling development proposed by Lidl for the site of the old stadium on Seamer Road. The exhibition will be staffed by Wrenbridge, Scarborough Council, the Design/Planning Consultants, Lidl and Scarborough Athletic FC; it is part of a consultation exercise being carried out by the developers to gauge community support for their plans before they are officially submitted.
It hardly seems possible that we've been driving through to Bridlington for our football fix ever since the old club closed its gates back in 2007. Now at last we are close to having an amazing new stadium that we can call 'home' on our own doorstep. The Directors support these plans completely, and Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot will be coming along to inspect them on Friday afternoon. We urge you to come and see for yourselves what is proposed and to show your own support.
If you are unable to attend the exhibition, you can still view all the plans and complete the main consultation questionnaire online by visiting www.scarborough.gov.uk/consultation and selecting the ‘Leisure Village and Lidl consultation' option.
On behalf of the council, we would also encourage you to complete an additional questionnaire, the results of which will be used to build a clearer picture of how SAFC supporters are likely to get to the new football ground. This questionnaire is also available online via the above link – once on the Leisure Village consultation page, you will find it in the section titled ‘Information sought by Scarborough Athletic Football Club’ near the bottom of the page.
Alternatively you can print off a pdf version (below), complete it and post it off to the club address shown on the form. You can fill in a copy at the exhibition itself and hand it back to us, or hand over a copy to any of the Club Directors at either of the next two fixtures (against Clitheroe or Droylesden).
All responses to both of the above mentioned questionnaires must be submitted no later than Friday 20 February to count towards the pre-planning consultation.
If you can attend the exhibition, we look forward to seeing you there!
The exhibition will be open on Friday 6 February between 4pm and 8 pm, and again on Saturday 7 February between 10am and 2 pm.
