East Coast Futsal 

The East Coast Futsal side is run by Boro Reserves team manager Steve Brennan, plays in the national Futsal League from the Bonus Arena in Hull, and is affiliated to the North Riding County FA through Scarborough Athletic FC.

Along with girls football, futsal has been given a lot of attention in recent years by the FA. It is played indoors by teams of five players with a set of rules varied from normal football.

Scarborough Athletic is extremely proud to be attached to the side, who play games against sides such as Sheffield, Middlesbrough, Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds Futsal sides.

Formed in early 2009 by Brennan, the side has grown from a local futsal league based at the Bridlington Sports Hall on Gypsey Road in the town, into a fully functional mens' futsal side playing competitive games against some of the top sides in the country in an FA organised league. They joined the national league in July 2010 and fixtures began in November. Games are played ion Sundays at Hull's Bonus Arena.

The current side includes Brennan himself alongside current Boro reserve team stars Nick Van Heerden, Luke Foster, Stuart Wallace and Kieran Link. The side's captain is former Boro player Brewster Frizzell, and other footballers local to Scarborough and Bridlington are involved.

The club takes regular trips to play abroad against European futsal teams - and has completed two tours of Ireland and one of Italy since formation.

The club also runs futsal sessions in Bridlington, Filey, Whitby and Scarborough for juniors, with weekly sessions for youngsters wanting to learn the games and become involved.
